Who is Foreign Exchange Student?

Dear Friends,

Some of you have been hosted Foreign Exchange Student either a school year or summer student. And some of you are going to host a school year or summer student this year.

All of us excited, worry, happy, etc before the student arrive or even before we decided to host the student. How she/he looks like? Is he/she helpful? Is it too much responsibility for us? and so on....

The student who is enroll to study to USA has the same questions. Is there any host family for me? Are they nice? Do they accept me? and so on......

Fun and Friendship are the only same answer why we're hosting and why the students come to USA. Would you give a chance to the student to learn in USA? Would you give a chance to your family to build International friendship?

Attached is some of EF Foreign Exchange Students (Silje Bergum, Leon Fritz & Naoko Yamamoto) who are in Vacaville since last August for their school year, http://fromthereporter.com/PDF/Bark0507.pdf

Sile Bergum from Norway is our Foreign Exchange Student for school year 2006-07. She's very helpful around the house, active at school and in the community. Our children, Nathan who is 11 and Kayde is 8, love her very much. She likes bake cookie and cake with Kayde, play boardgames with Nathan & Kayde, etc. She's on Badminton Team, Honor Roll student, participate at the Vacaville Cultural Diversity Fair & the Parade for Fiesta Day and participate at Son of Norway. She's been invited to Son of Norway, all kind of school parties and slumber parties with friends from school. Her name is on the local newspaper (The Reporter), School's newspaper (The Bark) and even got interview by VLS for TV Channel 27. Also she's very independent and she takes public transportation a lot around town

We proud to be her volunteer host family and volunteer coordinator for those Foreign Exchange Students. We build friendship with great students and awesome host families.

Volunteer Host Families are still needed for summer and school year 2007-08 students.

Please let me know if you or someone you know interested or decided to host a foreign exchange student this summer or school year 2007-08.
